December was off to a festive start with our annual spirit week tradition here at Ridley! Our prefects did a wonderful job at organizing a fun week filled with various themes, challenging our students as well as the teachers to get creative!

On Tuesday, 3rd December, it was Jersey Day. Our community religiously showed up in their selected team jerseys, showcasing multiple sports including basketball, soccer, baseball, and so much more. A fan favorite was students wearing their friends’ school team jerseys to show support! Go Tigers!

We kicked it off with the classic PJ day on the 2nd of December. It was very entertaining to see some of the faculty and all young Ridleans dressed in their Christmas PJs, it was certainly a great day for cute photos! From classic checkered black and red, all the way to sparkling gold PJs, we saw it all!

On the colourful and relaxing Wednesday, our upper schoolers showed up in different colors based on their grade. Grade 9s wore playful pink, Grade 10s in gorgeous green, Grade 11s looked radiant in red, and our beloved seniors in blue.

Day 4 was themed dynamic duo day! All day, students had paired up to wear unique duo outfits. Multiple matching, swapped, mismatched, and playful character duos roamed the halls of Ridley, making the day all the more fun for everyone!

We concluded our week with country vs country club. It was a chance for students to either show off their preppy skirts and sharp blazers, or put on their cowboy hats and boots. A mix of both was seen as students entered the school on Friday, it was truly a sight to see so many cowboys and cowgirls walking beside our country club folks! To make the week more fun, our prefects hosted lunchtime games, including candy pong, rolling candy with tissues, and more! It was a phenomenal effort from their end that helped everyone get into the holiday spirit, as we geared up for our December break ahead.

It was my first spirit week, and I must say, I’m keeping a section of my closet all set for next year!
