Last Saturday, 22nd Feb, after a long wait, our Upper Schoolers finally had their annual Dean’s Dance! It was a spectacular night organized by our prefects, with snacks, music, disco lights, fun photo stands, and so much more! Though the event officially started at 7.30 pm, prep started way before. There were photo backdrops and snacks set up in each house, with our students having fun getting ready and photo sessions pre-dance! Those glamouring dresses and sharp suits needed to be captured on camera for sure! People started filling the great hall around 7:30-7:45, and it was indeed a sight to see our high schoolers all dolled up, ready to take a break from their hectic schedules.

Our DJ played hits ranging from “Espresso” to “Not Like Us,” giving everyone something to sway their hips to. By 8-8.30, almost all of Upper School had hit the dance floor, dancing the night away. That was not all! There were candy and snacks at the back of the hall, along with cups for a refreshing drink of water whenever needed! This was another great spot for pictures when students took a little dance break. Get those digi-cams out! Some IB business students also hosted games and fun little stands on the balcony and around the hall to keep students engaged during their breaks.

We also enjoyed amazing performances from some of our best singers here at Ridley. Rae Dorah ’25, Alex Bergoshoeff ’26, Shakeela Vahdat ’25, and Gioia Bonifacio-Proietto ’25 stole the show with their singing skills, getting huge shout-outs from the crowd! In addition to that, we also got a sneak peek at some special Deans’ proposals, leaving the crowd gushing with joy. All in all, date or no date, it was a fun experience for all, whether it was your first Deans’ Dance or last. I can’t wait for next year!
