Camp Highlights & Experiences

We kicked off this school year with an unforgettable experience at camp, both for the boys at Camp Onondaga and the girls at Camp White Pine. Here’s a look back at the standout moments from camp this year.
To start, the daily activities. Students enjoyed scheduled and free time at camp, like participating in water activities such as paddle boarding, canoeing, and using the inflatable water playground (FLOID). As part of the Bradley Shield competitions, students participated in a series of activities. These included but were not limited to painting, archery, and diving to earn Bradley Shield points. One new activity included the Six, which was an obstacle course race against other groups in different houses. This involved climbing, ring tossing, a balance beam, and puzzle-solving. For senior students, the giant swing was reserved exclusively as a last year- thrill-seeking activity.
Secondly, the house spirit stood out. Most notably, the traditional house cheer-off and house campfires finished off days at camp. This built a strong sense of community within the houses. Before the cheer-off, House Captains and Prefects taught new students the house cheers. House campfires were warm and cozy, with (of course) marshmallows, chocolate and graham crackers provided. Bradley Shield events such as tug-of-war and dodgeball were energetic and intense, with high levels of competition and complete participation by the student body.
Lastly, Grade 12s headed to Camp Muskoka after the days of their original camp, learning essential leadership skills and participating in team-building activities. The NASCAR team activity was rigorous and fast-paced, teaching students how to allocate roles, manage time, and develop a more efficient plan throughout several attempts. Another leadership activity was Draft Day, a sports team management roleplay which taught money management, bartering and how to aim for excellence.
Overall, camp provided time for students to familiarize with their peers and faculty, while spending time actively exploring a diverse selection of new athletic activities. New or returning, junior or senior, all students had a chance to have an impressionable camp experience.
